This moderate 8.38 km loop hike follows a section along the scenic Cowichan River before returning on the Cowichan Valley Trail. There is an initial downhill section followed by a flat/gradual uphill hike back up to the old rail bed for an easy return back to our starting point. Being a country hike there are also no coffee shops along the way. However, the trailhead park has a large sheltered picnic area and if we all bring a thermos and/or coolers, along with a picnic lunch, we can enjoy some post hike camaraderie.
The drive to Glenora Trails Head Park is about 1 hour from Victoria. You’ll note the sign for the park on the left and a short drive to the parking lot. We’ll meet at the buildings.
