Pilgrim Credencial
VICTORIA CAMINOThe credencial or pilgrim passport provides evidence of the bona fide pilgrim status of the bearer. The stamps collected in it daily are a detailed record of your journey along the Camino. It has two important purposes: (1) it gives access to the pilgrim albergues and (2) it has to be presented at the Pilgrim Office of Santiago Cathedral in order to obtain a compostela.
The Canadian Company of Pilgrims has been granted the authority to issue “credenciales” which are recognized by the pilgrimage authorities in Santiago.
This Credencial is available to members only who plan to walk or cycle the Camino without vehicular back-up. Application must be made to the national office in Victoria. Be sure to include your expected date of departure and allow 3-4 weeks turn-around time.
