Ruckle Park on Salt Spring Island is a beautiful park with a breathtaking view of the ocean and historical heritage farm area. With its long shoreline, rocky headlands, forest and small bays, the park has long been a favourite spot for hiking, camping and watching boats sail by. Walkers are responsible to find their own way to the meeting point at the end of Beaver Point Road in the park. BC Ferries’ sailing time to Salt Spring Island (Fulford Harbour) is at 8:35 am. Sailing time is 20 minutes. BC residents over 65 with ID can board for free Monday-Thursdays (excluding Stat Holidays). BC Transit operates 9 Ruckle Park bus departs at 9:15 am from Fulford Harbour stop to Ruckle Park stop directly. The same bus will depart from the Ruckle Park back to Fulford Harbour at 3:46 pm.
Consider car pooling or taking public transit to the meeting point. Please bring water and lunch for the day. There are washrooms and water stations at the park. The park’s farm stand sometimes features home made cookies for purchase. Make a day trip to Salt Spring to enjoy what the island has to offer.
