This walk starts from Centennial Park\, on flat terrain but there is an elevation gain from 40 m to 110 when we are hiking up to Butterfield Park. We will be walking through a forest area\, crossing a few streams\, mostly on back country roads. Midpoint is the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church\, the oldest church in BC.

We ascend to Gore Park\, with slab rocks\, moss\, and frost-covered plants. Continuing to Oak Haven Park\, then climbing a hill to a summit with Saltspring Island and peninsula farms in view. From there\, we walk along Garden Gate Road to Gowlland Todd Provincial Park\, stopping at the beach for a break. We continue on Benvenuto Avenue\, taking a hidden path to Woodward before descending to the ocean. We walk along the ocean to Verdier Park\, where we have a coffee and snack break\, use the bathrooms\, and then meander through the streets before returning to our cars.
