We’ll begin at Beacon Hill Park and follow easy\, mostly flat urban terrain as we walk the coast along Dallas Road\, passing the Ogden Point Breakwater and its iconic lighthouse. From there\, the path winds past the colorful floating community at Fisherman’s Wharf\, the grand Legislative Buildings\, and the bustling Inner Harbour. After enjoying about 7 km of our 11 km walk\, we’ll take a well-deserved break at the James Bay Farmers Market and the Good Earth coffee shop. With its long shoreline\, rocky headlands\, forest and small bays\, the park has long been a favourite spot for hiking\, camping and watching boats sail by. Walkers are responsible to find their own way to the meeting point at the end of Beaver Point Road in the park. BC Ferries’ sailing time to Salt Spring Island (Fulford Harbour) is at 8:35 am. Sailing time is 20 minutes. BC residents over 65 with ID can board for free Monday-Thursdays (excluding Stat Holidays). BC Transit operates 9 Ruckle Park bus departs at 9:15 am from Fulford Harbour stop to Ruckle Park stop directly. The same bus will depart from the Ruckle Park back to Fulford Harbour at 3:46 pm.\nConsider car pooling or taking public transit to the meeting point. Please bring water and lunch for the day. There are washrooms and water stations at the park. The park’s farm stand sometimes features home made cookies for purchase. Make a day trip to Salt Spring to enjoy what the island has to offer. \nPets are not permitted on our walks for the comfort and safety of all walkers\, thank you! \nWalk Statistics:\nTotal Distance: 13 km\nEstimated Finish Time: 4 hours\nElevation Change: 385 m\nDifficulty: Moderate\nSurface: Hiking trails

Then continue on and take the historic Interurban Rail Trail to our final destination at Mosi Bakery Cafe & Gelateria on West Saanich Road.
